Revelation VS. KeePassX
Tuesday, October 7th, 2008So, as I continue to try and use non windows thing at work I have come across the need for a password manager that is truly cross platform. I have used Revelation and have really liked it, but there isn’t a windows or Mac OS version. So, I dug around until I found KeePassX.
Now, KeePassX has two pluses. It is multi-platform and it arranges the passwords in alphabetical order. Otherwise Revelation is way way way better.
The reason being that when it boils right down to it KeePassX is a password manager, and does ok at that. But Revelation is a Data Safe, meant for not just passwords, but any other commonly used number that you may want to keep safe. You can select what type of password you will store, so that when you store a database password it asks for host, port and database name.
So, if anyone knows a better multi-platform data safe, similar to revelation, I’d love to hear about it.
