My name is Will Smith. I imagine that you are thinking to yourself that how could a rich and handsome actor have the time to write such a blog. The reality is that while I enjoy the famous actor and his movies, I am not he. I am in fact a young not-actor that has a very eclectic personality and is interesting in far to many things.
For example, I enjoy very much to help others and to feel of assistance in some way. It is because of this I have selected my career as a funeral director and embalmer. I currently manage a Mortuary, Cemetery, Crematory in Salt Lake City.
In addition to liking to help people I enjoy tinkering. This has gotten me into many doors. I am the IT manager for Larkin Mortuaries. I administer their servers, provide desktop support, networking, web design, and general button guy. Also, for the past three years I have been involved with the Utah Open Source Foundation as both the Conference Manager and now as a member of their board of trustees.
My involvement with this group has come about by my love for open source software. I don't really get off on the whole free aspect, although that is important, but the assurance that I have choice. I love the idea of being able to choose, and if something doesn't fit my need to make something that does or modify something till it fits.
With this last thought in mind I present this blog, centered around my explorations in open source software and ideas. I thank you for reading, and have a wonderful day.
